Examples? Who was it claimed Barnsley FC 'supported ' Leeds action in the High Court? It sure wasn't Barnsley. Who is it that claims to be acting on behalf of Bournemouth FC, and others, when for months and months they took no such sympathetic action? Why is it that Leeds Utd, when beating all before them, didnd't bother to register their complaint - but who now that they have ceased to win, suddenly raise a clamour to get their' 15 points back?
If the precedents set by the FA and FL were followed, Leeds Utd would not have been docked 15 points. They would either have been relegated, or, they would have been thrown out of the League altogether.
This claim by Leeds Utd and their Chairman is special pleading of the worst kind.
Reject the Leeds Utd claim. Please.

| 119 | Dave Wright | I feel this case could be a watershed for the League's integrity. Leeds did not conform to the rules that they agreed to and were duly punished. They would not be pursuing this case if their early season form had continued and promotion was looking a good bet. Ken Bates is using all of his arrogance and muscle to achieve his own ends and I feel his claims to be acting on behalf of fairness are not justified. he cares nothing for Luton and Bournemouth, or indeed any other club in League1. The Leeds United programme is the only one I have seen where the Chairman's notes do not welcome the opposition club. That's evidence of where his heart lies.
If the judgement is overturned I feel it will be bad day for footbal and the reputation of the League. |
