Dear WCVB Channel 5 Boston, We, the readers reached via your Facebook page, respectfully request that your news stories no longer be created in a slideshow format. 25-100 or more slides is far too many for a slideshow. A photo is not necessary to accompany each sentence of a story, nor does a numbered list (i.e.: top 100 schools) require a separate slide for each installment. We have commented many times on individual Facebook posts that the slideshow format is not appreciated. Many readers state that they have not, cannot, or will not flip through each individual slide. Many readers attempt to access said slideshows via their smartphones, and find it incompatible, and so are unable to read the list or story. However, it seems that your comments are not monitored, as these complaints have fallen on deaf ears. Please consider limiting the use of slideshow formatted stories, eliminating them altogether, or perhaps offering a plain text version of each slideshow you create.
