We, the undersigned, are concerned about FIFA's choice of Qatar as the host of 2022 World Cup. It is our understanding that Qatar is a nation that does not provide equal rights for women when attending soccer/football matches. It is our understanding that Qatar does not allow Israelis into their nation. It is our understanding that homosexuality carries negative connotations and even criminal implications in Qatar. It is our understanding that the sale and consumption of alcohol is limited and carries criminal implications in Qatar. We ask that FIFA, as a body purportedly against sexism, racism, homophobia, and as one who accepts sponsorships from beer and other alcohol companies, release a public plan to explain to fans how they intend to deal with the issues mentioned above. We also object to the holding of the World Cup in January or February, as has been proposed. This would interfere with many world leagues and the availabilty of players.
