| 1413 | GermaicanSpice | Please keep this beach "free" for people to come and enjoy. It is bad enough that a lot of Jamaican beaches cannot be enjoyed by locals because they charge a fee. Winnifred needs to stay just the way it is....relatively tourist-free and Jamaicans should most definitely be able to enjoy this beach without having to pay, after all, it's THEIR beach! |

| 1416 | Luke Ehrlich | I only visited there once, but it is lovely and should remain lovely and absolutely PUBLIC. |
| 1417 | michele | winnifred must be a public beach forever |
| 1418 | Janet Hall | My daughter and I recently visited your beautiful island. We stayed at a resort in Ocho Rios, but made a day trip to Port Antonia. We were sweep away by all the natural beauty we saw. While at the Blue Lagoon, my daughter inquired about a place to eat; and we were taken by boat to this wonderful beach,Winnifred. After returning home to the United States, the place that stood out in my mind wasn"t the fancy resort we stayed in, but Winnifred Beach and its wonderful people. This place has made me want to visit again and stay in Port Antonia where I can again visit this magical place. This is the place I am telling my friends they need to visit. Do not destroy this place by building a resort there(you have enough resorts). Any island can have resorts; you have something magical! Keep Winnifred Beach just as it is. Please do not destroy paradise! |
| 1419 | patrick rosshrt | THUNDERBOLT. bOLT. LIGHTNING AND thunder. Portland is like an old lady pulling up her socks when she is not wearing any. Enough hurricanes we are not done with you. The JLP is ineffective and corrupt same as the PNP. The end is not near, religion will never save you climb out from the rock you live under and the rock you live on. this is not the last sound, but it could be the last truimpet. We are growing in number and we are not yet done with you. your time is at hand and both you and the PNP will be undone. | 1420 | Hermann Tobisch | We cannot not allow the Urban Destruction Corporation to errode the rights of ordinary people.
I hope that HM Court decides in favour of the people.
Well done. |

| 1423 | Daniel Naumann | Hi from Australia! We visited Winnifred Beach in 2007 and it was the absolute highlight of our time in Jamaica. It was one of the few places we felt that everyone was the same - there was no distinction between tourists and locals. Everyone was just there to enjoy the location. Losing Winnifred Beach to developers would be losing part of the true Jamaica. |

What can i do to help?
I reside in the UK. |

| 1428 | collinsworth scott | i strongly believe that preserving Winnifred Beach as a public beach is important in the fight for Jamaicans to have access to their beaches all over the island and as such can set a precedent. We call for the Urban Development Corporation proposal for Fairy Hill and Winnifred Beach to be withdrawn.we the local people need our lively hood and this beach is in particular is an integral part of our socialization, interaction of peers and family activities.where should the jamaican family go for recreation? |
| 1429 | Anonymous | This beach should remain free for the people of the community and others. |
| 1430 | Frank | I think the beach should remain a beach for the people. |

| 1437 | Miya | Each time my husband and I visit Port Antonio, we always look forward to go to Winnifred beach. We feel part of Jamaica and its people there. Over the years, we have made friends there.
We implore the government of Jamaica to keep this beach public and environmentally protected.
Foreigners come to Jamaica to relish its beauty but also its people; stop creating segregated beaches for foreigners as we come here to be part of the culture. Stop developing and start protecting your environment! |
