Comments: My thoughts on the matter of this man taking his time waving at all the people, is something that everyone should do when thay have time to , because that one man is showing that we are strong and proud to be amercian and we can be notice no matter what, and we will always stand to be notice no matter what it may take or how long because we the people our "FREE".

Comments: Shame on his sister, didn't September 11th teach you anything. Don't thinking about yourself and put your brother first. You can entertain with him there and perhaps he could help on the renovations. Give him a purpose.

Comments: We always look forward to the "man who stands in the middle of the road and waves to everyone going by". Then we know we are almost to Charlottesville. We have followed Jimmy's story, with interest, as our daughter has sent us the articles from the news paper. Thanks for letting us sign this petition.

Comments: Jimmy is a real goodwill ambassador for Albemarle County. What a shock to learn that his own sister is responsible for his disappearance from the scene. Many of us will remember that when her name is on the ballet again.

Comments: I travel approx. 30K miles/year throughout VA in my work and have seen Mr. Dowell at his "church" for many years. My wife & kids thought I was crazy when I told them about him until we were all in the van on a trip to the beach and they got a wave as we passed by. I look forward to seeing Mr. Dowell on my return trips; not only does it break up an otherwise monotonous drive, it means I'm that much closer to home. On occassion, I have had the time to stop & speak with him or share some cookies or a milkshake from The Crossroads Store before continuing down US 29. Always pleasant, he greets me as an old friend even though I know he has no clue as to who I am. Never once have I left without feeling a little better about my day and the road ahead.
