Name: Rachel Roberts on Oct 16, 2007Comments: It is the "fun" element of the pool, and has been fundamental in giving our 4 children confidence in the water. I have also used it extensively for Aquafit during ad after pregnancy. To be able to swim with children whilst other children are having lessons has been fnatastic making the whole event fun for all rather than an ordeal amusing toddlers on the balcony.Flag

Name: Ruth North on Oct 16, 2007Comments: The children are always in this pool and they love the flume, to say this looses its appeal isn't correct in my view. They really enjoy the leisure pool facility and despite being able to swim well enjoy this pool equally. What is the point of having consultation if you don't listen to the majority view. It makes the process valueless and adds to the view that the council is just paying lip service to the general public and already have their own agenda and answer to the problem. The pool is well over due for attention but do it properly no half measures and then you will have something lasting and of value for the whole town to use at reasonable rates.Flag

Name: Sandra Danaher on Oct 16, 2007Comments: The Leisure pool is too important a facility to be lost to the young children of Melton - it should be kept and upgraded and the whole Waterfield proposal re-thought. There is just not enough room in the other 2 pools during holiday time to accomodate all the children using the facility. It would be madness to close the leisure poolFlag

Name: Liz Coull on Oct 16, 2007Comments: I think it would be a huge shame if the leasure pool was closed. We take the children from Little Rascals Day nursery down to the swimming pool on a regular basis. Often the leasure pool is the only option available for small childre as the baby pool is usually being used for lessons. This is also the case on a weekend.Flag

The disabled, elderly, children as well as a rang eof adults My girls have got alot of enjoyment from the leisure section of the pool, and the enjoyement we get from swimming is the reason most of bother to learn in the first place I don't use the Gym nor do any of my family but we do use the pool.Flag

Name: Michael Turner on Oct 20, 2007Comments: The closure proposal is a discrace, the 2nd best option chosen is not representative of the views of the people of Melton. I have swam for Melton and my children are being taught at Melton pool, I want to safeguard this facility for my children's children. The leisure pool is a great facility to give children confidence in water and the staff are very helpful. Closure would sent many families to other pools such as Grantham or Rushcliffe ( an excellent pool with a families first policy ). I would like to see the leisure pool side extended - not converted, we have a multitude of gyms in Melton, we only have 1 pool, lets make Waterfield the best in the area and a focal point for the re-generation that is happening at the Play Close and Leicester road tennis courts. The petition has my full support.Flag
