Every mand woman asnd child had better look in the mirror in the morning and ask themselves "how many have I killed, maimed and tortured today because of my fellow Americans support of this Administration"? Remember after WW!! ALL Germans had to take responsibility for what Hitler did. |
| 153 | Christina Marco | This war is illegal and the politicians who started it are the lawbreakers. Let's prosecute the real criminals here not the innocents whom those politicians were only too happy to exploit. |

| 160 | Walter L. Beljaars | Yes, a soldier has the right to refuse to fight in an illegal and unjustified war. He is not fighting for his country, he is doing the dirty work for greedy oil barons. |

| 167 | Ames Gilbert | One young, incredibly brave man, has stood up to the pressures of society and his peers on behalf of truth. He stands for the better part of all of us, and certainly of me. Take this opportunity to join him in the search for the truth about this illegal war, and the illegal orders from above that force the members of our armed services to commit illegal and immoral acts in our name. These inquiries are the necessary first steps to save us from the approbation of future generations of Americans, and disgrace in the eyes of the rest of the world.
Thank you. |
| 168 | Gail Flanery | I strongly support the Watada family in requesting Congressional Hearings on Lieutenant Ehren Watada's case. We are still a democracy, although embattled by some of the highest officials in our government. Let's engage our country in honest and truthful discussions of issues raised by his case. |

| 170 | Katherine Holland | Lieutenant Ehren Watada,s actions are those of a true christian. He who refuses to kill others is indeed a man of peace. He should have never been forced to go through this. But we who believe in peace & refuse to kill our fellow man are called cowards by those who have no conscience. Those who start wars for glory & greed are a disgrace to the human race, for they themselves refused to serve their counrty when called upon. |
| 171 | Marilyn Stripling | Protect the Constitution, Lt. Watada is a man of conscience and substance. |

| 173 | samuel fasone | i am 100% behind you and your son....he did the honorable thing, refusing an illegal order, when no one else would stand up and be counted. our bogus president and his vice pres should be the ones in a military brig........ |
| 174 | Donna Cayot | Ehren Watada is one of the few people with the intelligence and courage to refuse an illegal military order. It is not only his right to refuse an illegal order - it is his obligation. Kudos to Officer Watada for having the courage of his convictions, and doing the right thing, even though it was much harder to do than just going along with the overwhelming majority of his colleagues. |
| 175 | Jeannine Otchis | |
| 176 | Theodore J. Shannon | An American citizen soldier is obliged to follow only legal orders, otherwise he violates national and international law. Lt Watada is to be commended for defending his obligation. |
| 177 | Leslie Schockner | I support the calling of hearings to investigate the stifling of the constitutional right of free speech that has been exposed by this case. |
| 178 | jim johnson | |
| 179 | George Grover | All I would ask those in power today is that they READ THE FUCKING CONSTITUTION. All answers are in that document. |
| 180 | Robert Alft | Lt Watada has taken his oath to protect the Constitution to heart. Will you? |
| 181 | Jim & Nancy Cole | Stop prosecuting innocent people. |

| 185 | NorahChristine RunningWolf | We need more men and women of conscience to speak out as Lt. Watada has done.
Lt Watada demonstrates what a true and patriotic American is. |
| 186 | Deb Heald | |
| 187 | Kelly McConnell | Thank you Robert Watada for such an eloquent statement and for raising a son that ALL Americans can and should be proud of. Thank you Ehren Watada for having the wisdom and the courage to stand up against the abuse of our country's military might. |
| 188 | Bill Howarth | I salute Lieutenant Ehren Watada. He is an American hero, a supporter of the Constitution and Bill of Rights. The invasion and occupation of Iraq, wrongly called a war, is immoral, illegal, and an affront to every decent human being on the planet. Lt. Watada is a brave man for opposing this tragic blunder orchestrated by a cabal of deluded ideologues surrounding this President, who apparently had neither the character nor the intellect to tell the members of the cabal to get lost.
Our brave soldiers, most of whom lack the training to fight a guerilla campaign, are dying and being maimed as I write. The occupation is another example in a long line of colonial occupations by a Western power to dominate Mesopotamia and steal its resources. It did not work for the British after World War I, and it will not work this time. The history of foreign occupations of Arab countries has always been a disastrous bloodbath. The occupation is an outrage as was the tragic invasion of Vietnam that killed some 58,000 American soldiers, maimed thousands of others, and killed hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese. If more military officers would do the honorable thing and oppose demagogues such as those who have taken over our foreign policy, such debacles would not be repeated.
Members of the Democratic Congress seem unable to muster the kind of moral courage Lieutenant Watada shows. Let us hope, however, that his example will inspire others in the officer corps to do their duty to protect the Constitution and their own moral integrity. This is the way to true patriotism. A soldier of conscience takes his oath of service seriously and is willing to fight and die defending his country, but he is not willing to fight or die in a war of aggression against a country that was no threat to us. The war criminals in our government should be on trial, not Lieutenant Watada.

| 197 | Daniel E. Dunlap | This young man has displayed extraordinary courage and honor so sadly lacking by our country's leadership who apparently are able to violate national and internal laws with immunity to the embarrassment of this great nation. As I gladly offer my support to this petition, I have so very little faith that enough congressional leaders possess the integrity to so the bravery Lt. Wataba has shown. |
| 198 | Nathaniel Barker | |
| 199 | Charlotte Brady | Since first reading about Elren Watada' s sconscientious decision to refuse to go to Iraq, he has been ever present in our thoughts. If more people would obey their conscience, a lot of the evil would not have been committed over there. Leaders like Ehren, should be listened to and valued. |
| 200 | Ralph Monroe | It remains the Federal Government's legal obligation to hold all institutions, including the Military, to strict adherence to the Constitution. First Amendment rights to exercise free speech as applies to Lt. Watada's case may not be abridged. I, as a conscientious American, back his important position. Efforts to retry him on similar charges and squelch free speech by the Commander-in-Chief and the Army are illegal, immoral and unethical positions vigorously promoted over the past seven years. Confronting such withering odds identify Lt. Watada as a man of conscience who clearly loves his country. Bravo, Sir! |
