©WarrenFischer™-HuaLun is being held in jail until his sentencing date on July 24, 2013 for tax evasion. He has declared his sovereignty with the Sovereign©Skwxwú7mesh-Squamish™ Government in 2011 and has relinquished his Canadian citizenship. His decision not to pay taxes is based on his belief that most of the tax money is being used to support wars that Canada is involved with all over the world. This goes against his deeply rooted role as a healer. As co-founder of the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences in Nelson, BC in 1996 he has become part of a strongly supported alternative health movement within the community whose aim is to promote the wisdom of the Chinese medical tradition in a way that benefits all people of our world. The Academy generates esteemed health practitioners that have circulated worldwide for many years and now provide pro-active care to an otherwise overburdened health care system. Within the ACOS family ©Warren Fischer™ is seen as a mentor to students, alumni, instructors and staff providing inspiration and guidance from a wealth of experience and education. Students are encouraged to learn through exploration of self which enables them to aid patients in acquiring harmony, health and longevity. ©Warren Fischer™ has practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in BC since completing his Bachelor of Acupuncture, Moxibustion and Massotherapy at the Beijing College of TCM (China) in 1991. He has established a well-known clinic in Nelson with some of his patients driving up to 3 hours to see him. He is a gifted healer and his patients need his continued support here in Nelson. A testament to this has been the hundreds of phone calls to the Academy, Outpatient Clinic and Herbal Dispensary by very concerned and often exceedingly upset patients and frequent clients of the dispensary. The comments and concerns are all similar in nature..., “What will I do? Hua Lun, has been able to help me where the health care system has been unable to. I don’t want to get sick again! But, I need this man to continue helping my son! I live in Kaslo, there is no one who can help me there, and our emergency ward is under threat of closing, I can’t loose my doctor...” These are but a few of the many voices heard daily at ACOS, where even the staff have been stopped on the street by people confused about what to do, or where to seek answers. When ©Warren Fischer™ started to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine in BC no professional licensing existed in the province or anywhere else in Canada. He was appointed to the Board of the College of TCM Practitioners and Acupuncturists of BC (CTCMA) upon its creation and played a primary role in establishing National TCM licensing exams (Pan-Canadian exams) in Canada. It’s mission; to protect the public by establishing a system of mandatory registration in which practitioners have to meet and maintain standards in TCM and acupuncture. These efforts were because of his belief in healing and promoting health. It is to all the above concerns and philosophies that members of this community believe not only individuals but the community as a whole is best served by the continued presence of ©Warren Fischer™. We therefore appeal to Judge Lisa Mrozinski for a just sentence that (if found necessary) be of a community service based focus rather than jail time. We believe jail time would adversely affect his many patients. In a time of perpetual and increasing ER closures and lack of doctors in many of the surrounding rural areas; Kaslo, New Denver and Nakusp to name but a few, it seems counter intuitive to incarcerate one of the ever dwindling number of doctors in the area who truly help people. We ask that Judge Lisa Mrozinski levy a truly fair sentence, since there are no victims, no act of harm against society as a whole and no prior history of illegal activity a sentence of community service can be the only truly just, reasonable sentence that serves the needs of the community and it’s people. We, the undersigned, ask that Judge Lisa Mrozinski levy a truly fair sentence, since there are no victims, no act of harm against society as a whole and no prior history of illegal activity. A sentence of community service can be the only truly just, reasonable sentence that serves the needs of the community and it’s people.
