I wrote this letter to the Wanta Be President I hope he reads it, this the way I wrote it to that bastard. :::: Your failure to ask Congress to mandate use of the E-Verify system during your State of the Union address is both baffling and disheartening. I believe the House and the Senate must work on legislation that would force all employers to use the E-Verify employment verification system. Much of the debate over immigration policy in state legislatures and Congress this new year is shaping up to be over whether the primary way to move illegal foreign workers out of their jobs will be "soft" (using auditors and computers) or "hard" (using uniformed and armed personnel). Your administration has just enhanced its commitment to the "soft" style with the announcement of a new Employment Compliance Inspection Center intended to greatly increase audits to find suspect employers. You should have asked Congress during your State of the Union to send you a simple bill that would have accelerated your "soft" efforts to move illegal workers out of their jobs primarily through computers and auditors. You should have asked Congress to refrain from loading up the bill with other enforcement measures, urging them to limit the bill to mandating electronic verification (E-Verify) for every employee in the nation and to requiring government notification of Americans whose name and Social Security number are being used by illegal workers to obtain jobs. Once your compromise was presented before the nation, it would have been difficult for Republicans or Democrats in Congress to choose outlaw businesses and illegal workers over unemployed Americans and legal immigrants. 22 million Americans are unable to find a job and more must be done to help these Americans find work. I am very disappointed you did not use your State of the Union to address this problem and help put U.S. workers back to work. Please don't break our constitution by not enforcing the deportation of illegals here on our Country.
