To: The Cincinnati Waldorf School Board, College, and Administration Re: Jyothi Goud Performance, Qualifications, and Progress It has come to our attention that some doubt has been expressed about Jyothi Goud regarding her ability to serve in the capacity of primary teacher for the class of 2014. This letter is to express full support for Mrs. Goud as our children’s primary teacher in the Waldorf curriculum. The petitioners declare the following to accurately represent our position on her performance and suitability as a teacher and professional: 1. We believe in the value of a Waldorf education and all that it implies – specifically as it is being delivered under the direction of Jyothi Goud. 2. We are very happy with the overall level academic excellence toward which our children are being nurtured. This includes an explicit understanding that this excellence cannot be directly measured against “traditional” public school accomplishments. Based upon progress to date, the anticipated end result upon completion of the entire eight year cycle is consistent with our expectations. 3. We appreciate the great lengths to which Mrs. Goud goes to foster artistic expression and critical thinking skills. We are pleased that this demanding yet nurturing approach educates the whole child – head, heart, hands, and soul. 4. We welcome the individual attention and age-appropriate handling our children receive under the care of Mrs. Goud. Though we recognize that there are no two children whose needs are the same, we stand firm in our belief that Jyothi’s handling of the class is sufficiently demanding, while simultaneously loving. 5. There are times when one or more of us may disagree with Mrs. Goud on some specific point or other. However, we work with her to resolve these issues as they arise and feel that this exemplifies the very kind of collaborative capacity to which we want our children to aspire. 6. We wish our support of Jyothi Goud to be known, and publicly and proudly consider her to be a valuable part of our Waldorf family. In short, let it be known to all that Jyothi Goud is respected for her professional capabilities, valued for her teaching expertise, and admired for her qualities as a guide for our children as they grow into the fullness of their souls.
