Name: Erik A. DeBruin on Dec 8, 2012Comments: monitoring bracelet seems way too little punishment for the damage she caused to our family and friends, as well as the Newburgh neighborhood where Scott and Heather and their girls live. She damaged the faith of many, many well-meaning friends and neighbors in Wade's Wings validity as a charitable organization. There is no way to accurately determine how much financial damage was inflicted on the organization, but we can at least let the court know of the emotional damage she continues to cause the DeBruin family.Flag

Name: James Hollis on Dec 8, 2012Comments: When someone preys on the generosity of her community by exploiting a family struggling to plan for, and learning to cope with the inevitable death of their child, she should not be offered amnesty from her prescribed punishment. Her deception was deliberate, cold, and potentially damaging to a family who is faced by a similar plight in the future. She has made it easier for us to turn a blind eye. Her behavior has unfortunately added another thin layer of caution, to an already cautious body. Perhaps Miss Conapinski can dedicate some of her skill and talents to finding creative and legal ways to pay her debt. Latin for "to stand by things decided." Stare decisis is essentially the doctrine of precedent. Courts cite to stare decisis when an issue has been previously brought to the court and a ruling already issued. Generally, courts will adhere to the previous ruling, though this is not universally true. See, e.g., Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey, 505 US 833 (1992).Flag
