Dear Friends and Family, On Monday morning at 9:00 am it has been requested that Scott and I return to the Warrick Country Courthouse for a hearing for Katie Conapinski. If you remember, last year Katie threw the benefit for Wade and also hosted the fraudulent Toyota Minivan raffle. She then cashed the checks, that you all sent or used to pay for silent auction items, and deposited the money into her own account. Back in August, Scott and I attended the sentencing hearing where she was convicted of four counts of theft, for ever day she deposited checks, and one count of check fraud for cashing two checks intended for the raffle. Her sentence mandate was 1 year of house arrest and 5 years of probation. Now, Katie has filed a motion to have her monitoring device removed because she can not afford to pay for the monitoring service. Once again, Scott and I need to return to the courthouse for another hearing scheduled one year and one month from the day Wade died. Please help me put this to rest by signing this petition. If Katie cannot pay for the monitoring bracelet then I would like for her to spend some time in jail. Afterall, Katie stole your money, lied, misrepresented Wade's condition and polluted the generosity and concern of this community. Her actions continue to have a lasting impact on our ability to move forward and put these events in the past. Because of this situation we no longer attend our Church for fear of running into her, the girls no longer attend their former preschool for fear of seeing Katie at drop off and pick up and quite frankly, I don't want her to have access to my children, ever. If Katie is removed from monitoring, I will potentially see her at the grocery store, the drug store, the post office, the YMCA, or anywhere in this small town. Please don't let her get away with lying stealing and potentially doing this to someone else. I feel this plea is a scheme to get out of her sentence and I would like for her to server her time for the injustice she has put us all through. Thank you, Heather DeBruin
