The Petition

Dear NBCUNIVERSAL, James Parriott and Scholastic:

First, we would like to sincerely thank you for releasing Voyagers! on official DVD in 2007 for its 25th anniversary. This wise and unexpected move has enthralled thousands of original fans and many, many more have since watched it and grew to love the show. This release has exposed the series to a new generation, and has catapulted the remembrance of the fine, late actor, Jon-Erik Hexum.

The loving and funny relationship between Voyagers Phineas Bogg and Jeffrey Jones was truly the heart and nucleus of the show. Despite all the interferences and preempting during its much too brief 1982-1983 run, their partnership is what kept fans watching. Casting Jon-Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce was pure brilliance and no one can ever match that duo.

Although the release was a wonderful surprise, it was very disheartening that it came with no extras whatsoever. In the age of DVD and now Blue-Ray, having these supplements is an added incentive that greatly spurs fans and the curious to buy these shows and movies.

We the fans now petition you for the upcoming 30th anniversary which falls on October 18th 2012. Please put out a re-release of Voyagers! with some or all of the following supplementary material:

1. Photo gallery & Slideshow: Fans well know there is a vast collection of images, many of which have never seen the light of day; they would be excellent to browse through.

2. Episode Guide Insert: There were only twenty episodes, but it would be appreciated, along with a detailed synopsis and cast list for each.

3. Cast Bios for Jon-Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce, and other actors who had notable roles in the series.

4. Audio commentary on specific episodes with James Parriott and Meeno Peluce. Commentary and/or interviews with Actress Lou Mulford, who played Bogg’s true love Mabel Hubbard in the episode, ‘Barrier’s of Sound’ And also actor Jonathan Frakes, who played Charles Lindbergh in ‘An arrow pointing East.’

5. Outtakes, bloopers and other behind the scenes gems.

6. Clips of the original promotional commercials and guest spots by the actors that may have aired on NBC during the show’s run.

7. Something cute for the kids! Like a ‘cut along the dotted line’ cardboard omni insert and Voyagers! History and episode quizzes.

8. A second DVD or option to watch 'Voyager from the Unknown.' A 1984 made for TV feature that spliced two episodes together along with never before seen footage of Bogg and Jeffrey in the cosmos, new dubbing by Jon-Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce, and beautiful artwork in the opening and end credits by Jerry 'Jaroslav' Gebr.

These are all common extras to be found on most Television DVDs released in this decade. We are also aware of the damaging Universal Studios fires back in 2008. But hopefully all the media associated with the series was spared. There is still plenty of memorabilia and media out there to be used for this release.

Please seriously consider our petition and the options listed above. This is not just for the enjoyment of Voyagers! fans, but for the multitude of fans of Jon-Erik Hexum, talented former child star Meeno Peluce, and the creator of Voyagers!- Director & Producer James D. Parriott, who went on to many more successful television ventures.

Thank you! May all your landings be soft!
