To The Egyptian Supreme Military Council The Egyptian Constitution Committee The New Egyptian Prime minister & Government We, Egyptians Abroad, are writing to express our major disappointment that our rights as Full Egyptian Citizens have been severely compromised. Whilst we commend the very tolerant and effective leadership you have demonstrated at this critical time of our Nation’s history, we felt extremely despondent that a big proportion of Egyptians who can positively influence their Country’s future and shape its vision were ignored. There are more than 6 million Egyptians living abroad. They comprise a group of highly ranked professionals, intellectuals, and well trained workers and their families. They massively contributed to the Egyptian economy and continue to do so; they have never felt anything but Egyptians. It is of the Nations interest that those Egyptians are well represented in decisions shaping the Country’s future or vision. Addressing this need is a basic human right requirement in many countries; Egypt is not any less. We are calling upon you as people responsible for running our country to rectify this unjust situation. There are very crucial elections coming in the horizon that will influence the whole nation both living inside Egypt and abroad. We must admit to being extremely concerned that unless we can exercise our full rights as Egyptians and be able to vote for such important elections, any results are not going to be representative of the whole nation. Furthermore, the risk of alienating such a highly productive proportion of Egyptians is potentially devastating and certainly cannot be justified.
