Comments: Hello, I am 16 years old and will be turning 17 on August 25, 2004. I indeed have strong political views and completely understand what is going on in the world more than most of the adults i know do. However, due to my age, I am unallowed to vote in this upcoming election which I believe is crucial to our generation's future. I cannot vote, yet, next year I will be off to college to live on my own and deal with a second term of George W. Bush if the election turns in favor of him the candidate i most definately do not want in office. I have no say in important matters according to the government but in the next four years if Bush is re-elected the horrible result could most definately be a military draft placing my life and other young lives at risk for unsubstantial reasons. President George W. Bush is a liar and a mass murderer who has committed far worse crimes than those he 'seeks' dead or alive for possible terrorism. Bush is a very dangerous man who lives under a motto that America isnt about opportunity but is about being the biggest, richest, most feared nation in the world. During Clinton's term, the economy was by far the best America has seen historically in 40 yrs! Bush used tax payers money and billion dollar sums from the govt to provide for his attack on Iraq with mass bombings of innocent civilians! All of these actions had no real reasoning behind them except that he'd been plotting for years to get revenge on Hussein for trying to kill his father.Personal matters should never be reason enough to sacrifice the lives of Americans towards any country. The real mastermind behind 9/11 was Osama Bin Laden one of the Bush family's friends whom escaped on an airplane the day of the attacks by George W.Bush's word! Please give me my right to vote in order to change the errors of his administration! Its alright though if Bush is re-elected once by corruption and i have no say in it because by the time hes back in office i will be a new citizen of Switzerland which at least is a peaceful nation that is well respected by the world!(i'm not sure the US will ever regain peace and respect around the world after Bush)

Comments: It's time to promote voter awareness and allow our young people to become involved with the political process. If they can drive, they should also be able to vote. It's time to shake up the political process, and allow those who will be affected for much longer to participate in choosing our politicians.

Comments: i think personally that 16 year olds should not be allowed to vote in the general elections but i think that it should be a good idea to let them vote in council/constituency elections because they know more about that and whatsmore, we need the opinions of everyone, not just adults. this could be a revolution...
