The people of the county dealt with any crime that took place, including false accusations, in accord with local standards of behavior. If the County Sheriff felt any children needed to be temporary removed from a home, they were sent to stay with another family member or with a family who were members of a local church. But were never removed from the county. The sheriff’s office took extra care not to destroy or stigmatize a family, whether the accusations proved true or not.
CPS is not accountable to anyone. The only way to put an end to these atrocities is to abolish CPS! |

I have been going through hell for 3-4 years now just trying to get out from under cps's scrunity. I have been branded and I am innocent. I will always have this brand on me and there isn't anything I can do about it. All because, someone wanted to make trouble for me. when I was first being investigated I was told that if I didn't let my kids talk to them, I could have them taken away right that moment. So in fear I allowed them to talk to them. I know a little better now that I do have some rights and that those rights were violated that day. I feel like if there is a warranted situation were cps might need to get involved there should be set in place some constitusional protections, like there is for someone who is accused of a 'real' crime. When it comes to cps, You are guilty until proven guilty and even if you aren't guilty, you are still guilty until proven guilty. If you have the lucky chance that you are proven innocent, you are still guilty until proven guilty and if you so much as sneeze cps will be right there to take the kids away from you. They keep a file on you until 7-10 years pass(I think this might be correct, so don't quote me on it). So in the 7-10 year time don't even look at your kids like you want them to sit down now and be quiet or cps will be there screaming abuse and taking the kids away. This is my humble opinion and I feel like cps needs to be completely demolished 50 years ago. |
