The proposed sewage treatment plant would discharge 200,000 gallons per day, with incremental upgrades up to 990,000 gallons per day. Existing surrounding plants have adequate, available capacity. Wal-Mart does not need this sewage treatment plant to operate. The increased sewage capacity will entice extensive commercial and residential development, at a faster pace than is healthy. If you build it, they will come! Proposed sewage treatment plant could diminish and destroy our wells. It would cost you an estimated $15,000 for septic hookup and annual user fees. The stench of raw sewage will pervade the atmosphere. It would destroy the value of our homes. Increases the chance of raw, untreated sewage being released into the Jordan Creek. ************************************************************************** We the undersigned residents and taxpayers of North Whitehall and adjacent townships are opposed to the building of a new sewage treatment plant. The construction would destroy a historic area, and put at risk the special protected waters of the Jordan Creek. Please take responsible action to stop the construction of an unnecessary sewage treatment plant in our community.
