Name: Barbara Runyan on Sep 7, 2007Comments: This will be a detriment to our neighborhood and the surrounding community. I am very concerned about the traffic and u-turns on Highway 64 in front of Builders First Source and the Heritage Point/Deer Run neighborhoods. In addition, our neighborhood obtains water from underground wells - and it is not feasible to add additional wells to support a commerical enterprise.Flag

Name: Brigette Welton on Sep 7, 2007Comments: Protect our community, our environment, and our safety! This type of facility does not add value or generate income for Chatham County or the area residents who will be forced to deal with little buffer, added well worries, groundwater contaminants from the run-off, and the unsightly design of having a commercial property ajacent to our community. Thanks for considering and supporting your residents.Flag

Name: Brigette Welton on Sep 7, 2007Comments: Protect our community, our environment, and our safety! This type of facility does not add value or generate income for Chatham County. Just as important, it will have a negative impact on the area residents who will be forced to deal with no buffer, added well water worries, groundwater contaminants seeping into our ground from the run-off, and the unsightly design of having a commercial property ajacent to our community. Thanks for considering and supporting your residents.Flag

Name: Burton And Dolores Carnegie on Sep 9, 2007Comments: On Saturday, September 9, 2007, we received notification of a proposal to change residential rezoning. This rezoning proposal would change zoning from RA-40 to CU-B1. Chatham Development Corporation (developer of Heritage Pointe and no longer associated with the community) proposes to erect a large boat, recreational vehicle, trailer, and other vehicle storage facility across from Heritage Pointe, on Highway 64. This facility will have open and closed bays and will probably look like the eyesore storage facilities now on the south side of Route 64 in Chatham County. To discover that the developer of Heritage Pointe proposes to construct another similar facility for their profit and gain is unconscionable. We see no reason for the Chatham County Board of Commissioners to approve another similar storage facility and provide unsightly surroundings as soon as you enter Chatham County from Wake County on Highway 64 West. We strongly object to the continual degeneration of the environment in the county and the likely impact of residential property valuation. The residents of Deer Run and Heritage Pointe purchased large residential tracts expecting Chatham County to work toward a pleasant and beautiful residential community of homes for its citizens. We request that the Chatham County Board of Commissioners deny this rezoning request based upon the impact it places directly on the two major residential communities that lie in the immediate area entering Chatham County on Highway 64 West.Flag

Name: Krystn M Messer on Sep 10, 2007Comments: Chatham County should NOT line all the major corridors into the county with unsightly storage facilities. Doing so will not attract new home development nor businesses that provide more than a handful of minimum wage jobs. Please deny the rezoning request.Flag

Name: David & Cynthia Gigandet on Sep 18, 2007Comments: There was a study conducted by the county that resulted in a zoning of RA-40 (Residential). This proposal for a storage facility would certainly not provide any benefits that would justify re-zoning. Re-zoning will neither help the county (no real revenue improvement, creation of jobs, social enhancement or beautification) or the surrounding communities. We need further residential development in this area, as there is far too much commerical/business development already. The request to re-zone should be denied.Flag

Name: Barbara And Nelson Cooper on Sep 18, 2007Comments: We are highley opposed to this property being rezoned. This property is zoned for residentail and should remain so. There is already far to much of this type of business along 64. Do not pentalize those who own residential property in the neighborhood by forcing additional unwanted and unnecessary business development. We have bought residential property in the area to get away from this. To the county commisioners, keep your committment that this be residential. Please turn down the rezoning request.Flag
