The Gezira Sporting Club is first and foremost a sporting club and over the years has become an increasingly important green lung in the midst of a city that has limited green space and open areas. The club provides a space for people to come and sit and enjoy the open air in addition to playing sports. As the club membership continues to grow, the seating capacity in the club is shrinking, particularly on weekends and public holidays. The work that has been done in the Lido, is an excellent example of construction designed to improve sporting facilities and maximize use of underground space without in any way diminishing from the seating capacity or the sense of space. However what is adding to the strain of the seating capacity in open spaces is the construction and installation of retail outlets. We the undersigned propose a strict zoning policy on any and all retail outlets that are built or installed in the club that threaten to consume the already limited seating space and demand that immediate action is taken to remove the recently completed structure in the pergola in front of the Lido. كما هو ثابت من اسمة ، فنادى الجزيرة الرياضى هو أولا نادى رياضى ، و بمثابة رئة يتنفس من خلالها حى بأكملة تتناقص فيه تدريجيا كافة المساحات الخضراء . و يوفر النادى لأعضائة المساحات المفتوحة المتنوعة و التى تسمح لهم بالجلوس و الاستمتاع بالهواء الطلق (اضافة الى ممارسة الألعاب الرياضية المتنوعة) ، و التى أصبحت تتناقص أيضا تحت ضغط العضويات الجديدة ، لاسيما فى أيام العطلات ، و عطلات آخر الأسبوع. هذا و كانت أعمال اعادة تصميم حمام السباحة بمنطقة الليدو مثلا مشرفا من التصميم حيث ساهم فى تحديث التسهيلات الرياضية المتاحة دون المساس بالماطق المفتوحة و الخضراء بل المحافظة عليها و زيادة مساحاتها، الأمر الذى نشكر الادارة عليه. الا أنه من ناحية أخرى ، فقد تصبح سياسة النادى من السماح باقامة منافذ بيع الأغذية و المشروبات فى الأماكن المفتوحة ، اهدارا مباشرا للمساحات المفتوحة و الخضراء المتاحة للأعضاء. لذلك نطالب ، نحن الموقعون أدناة، ادارة النادى التفضل بالنظر فيما يلى : أ‌- ضرورة تحديد اقامة أى منفذ بيع أغذية و/أو مشروبات فى مناطق محددة فقط بما لا يتعارض مع المساحات المفتوحة و الخضراء المتوفرة ، ب‌- أن تتخذ ادارة النادى الاجراءات اللازمة نحو ازالة "الكشك" الذى تم بنائة بمنطقة البرجولا أمام الليدو ، قبل البدء فى تشغيلة . الاسم : رقم العضوية : الاسم : رقم العضوية
