License plate mounting kits are obstructive to the dynamic air flow and cooling systems in smaller cars. With air bag sensors built in to almost all newer car models, drilling holes in the front bumper is not an option. Many other states only require a rear license plate and allow vanity or sports plates on the front of vehicles. It's unfair to mandate Virginia residents have a MOUNTED license plate on the front of our vehicle when it clearly is not necessary. It would also lower costs for both plates and registration decals if only 1 plate were issued.
