My petition is about respecting personal beliefs.

As a Christian, I have grown up struggling with my personal faith and defining it. In this struggle, I have faced many people imposing their views upon mine and looking down on me for going to church and believing in a God. I wouldn't really understand how to respond to these comments, and often felt self-conscious about it.

However, I look back on these experiences and see now that because religion is a big part of who I am, that we have to respect each other's personal beliefs. I can respect those who do not believe in a Christian God, and I hope that I get that same respect back. Again I understand that it is often religious people who are the ones imposing their beliefs, but I'm speaking of my own experiences.

But my petition expands beyond religion, and addresses personal beliefs in general. Everyone has a truth, and we need to love our truths and ourselves. Love yourself for whoever you are!
