Village of Volente Roadwork Petition April __, 2012 We the residents of the Village of Volente are voicing our collective serious concern through this petition that our roads within the community have significantly declined and are in need of repair. We petition that the city council immediately act for the benefit of all residents to improve our roads; this most basic city service for which the city collects our taxes to provide. The Problem… Our roads are in disrepair. We are concerned for our safety and the potential further decline of our collective property values attributable to the decline of our roads. Recent attempts to repair and patch our roads have been woefully inadequate and not indicative of a city who desires to make our community a better place to live. Arguably the city is demonstrating a lack of concern and respect for its residents. Proposed Solution … We petition the city council to do the following: … 1. Develop a clear and actionable plan to repair and maintain our roads to a standard equal to or better than the Travis County standard. 2. Allocate adequate funds as a priority to service this most basic of need to our community. 3. Publish the budget and actual monies spent towards the improvement of our roads. 4. Articulate the specific schedule of dates for when the various road improvements will be completed. 5. All roads in need of repair will be completed within 12 months of repair commencement.
