The Minnesota Vikings have been a vital cultural asset since the team first played at Met Stadium in 1961. During the team’s 50-year history, the Vikings have remained the most followed franchise in Minnesota. The Vikings organization employs over 3,000 Minnesotans and annually generates tens of millions of dollars in property and income tax revenue. Losing the team, the jobs the Vikings organization provides, and millions in tax revenue would be difficult to replace and a huge loss for Minnesota. We, the undersigned, are deeply concerned about the inability of our state leaders to secure the Vikings’ future in our state. We call upon Governor Dayton and our state representatives to act swiftly and develop a plan that balances the interests of Minnesotans with the preservation of the Vikings as a Minnesota institution. By signing below, we are affirming our support for the construction of a new, state-owned facility to ensure the Vikings remain a part of Minnesota.
