Comments: As a mother of a 19 year old in recovery for an eating disorder I do agree with this petition. I feel that the media ans well as models advertised wearing skimpy clothing only eggs these young women on to want to look as these models so. If these models looked more realistically, then maybe they wouln't feel the pressure to look like the models do.

Comments: As I struggle with Bulimia and Anorexia myself, I just wanted to say the media is not all to blame, at the same time though, plastering images of what "SEXY" is or what "BEAUTIFUL" is...makes young women everywhere conscience of their own bodies.

Comments: The development of an eating disorder doesn't just evolve because of the media; however, images like those used in Victoria Secret ads can influence a person's perception of what is attractive, or what is normal, which in turn, for some, lowers their self-esteem, and can eventually lead to an eating disorder. Society today focuses so much on weight rather than health. People, both women and men, need to appreciate themselves for who they are, balance their life with physical activity, a balanced diet (which doesn't mean all tofu and lettuce), and surround themselves with people they love and look up to. Lets start focusing on what makes us happy in life...we're only given one body and one life...so treat it well.
