$50,000 Vet-Tech. Scholarship Application
We are petitioning to the Dean of Academic Services and the President at College of the Sequoias in Visalia, CA, as well as the parties in charge of Undergraduate Scholarships at the University of California Davis to officially change the criteria and qualifications that must be met by an individual applying for the $50,000 Veterinary Technician Scholarship. This scholarship is given in collaboration with UC Davis Veterinary School of Medicine for hispanic serving communities. In it's first year (2009), the scholarship was awarded to a high school student that obtained a 4.0. No where in the application or through out the process were COS students notified that this scholarship was open to high school students that had yet to obtain a diploma at time of application. COS students were also shocked to find out that their personal high school records were never critiqued or even looked at. Please read the the attached application for the scholarship and comment on who you feel would be eligible for this particular scholarship (i.e. COS student currently enrolled in the tech program, ANY COS student enrolled in any major, a high school student, a currently enrolled UC Davis student...). Many COS students find this application misleading, what is your opinion Please sign if you too feel that this application is misleading and agree that the wording needs to be changed for the fairness of all applicants. On the right side of your screen you will see a bar with the link to the website where you can also view the application. Thank you in advance! PETITION TARGETS Any individuals that wish to see the application process for this scholarship further clarified and fairness distributed to all students applying. Who further feel that such colleges and universities should be more organized and uniformed in the selection process.
