Name: Anonymous on Mar 17, 2009Comments: Having worked in three institutions, self-contained (segreagted schools), community services for adults with disabilities, group homes, and inclusive schools, I firmly DISAGREE with this legislation! People with disabiltiies must be part of society -- at every age and in every way -- and service providers in segregated facilities (as in inclusive facilities) MUST be held accountable. That requires self-advocates, families, and advocates to have legal recourses available to them. The Supreme Court decision in Olmstead case MUST be upheld, and not diminished, if we truly are a country for ALL of our people.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 27, 2009Comments: This will lead to more segregation, institutions w/in the community. It reminds me at the large state instiutions like Landmark Learning Center. People with developmental disabilites wanted those closed, why are we going to allow new ones to begin This along with the massive budget cuts is reverting people with developmental disabilities back over 20 years.Flag
