We the undersigned encourage Mayor Bernard Carvalho, Jr. to veto Bill 2364. Chapter 205 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes clearly prohibits vacation rentals on agriculture lands. Bill 2364 would allow vacation rentals on agriculture lands on the island of Kauai, which is in direct conflict with Chapter 205. The Attorney General of the State of Hawaii has opined that the County of Kauai does not have the authority to allow vacation rentals on agriculture lands. Please veto Bill 2364 so that Kauai's agriculture lands can be protected and preserved.
