Comments: I think this is a very good idea. More schools equals more educated people. It would be much easier for my career if Erie county started a graduate vet-program.

Comments: I am 24 and have finally decided that I want to start my schooling as a veterinarian. It has always been a dream of mine to do this. Unfortunatly because of the fact that I live on long island and the closest vet school is at least 5 hours away, I may have to settle as a vet tech. I can't leave my family and my plans to wed and have children with my fiance. I am hoping that by the time I finish my bach. degree There will be something available close by. I really hope that this petition works not only for erie county but all over the U.S.

Comments: I agree with you 100% that there should be more vet schools in the country. Right now I am in the 2nd year of college for pre-vet and getting really scared of getting into a vet school b/c of thier scarcity that make them so difficult to get into, and having to move so far away from home.

Comments: I absolutely agree with this petition. This is also a major issue for me. I would really like to go to school to become a vet, but I just don't have the money nor ambition to move five hours away.

Comments: I am in the same predicament myself. I can't think of a better profession for myself but a lack of schools has made it almost impossible without relocating. Animals are becomming "part of the family" now and there should be as many institutional possibilities as for health and human services.
