Harvey V. HoyerI am not a smoker. I believe this is another attempt to reduce our rights as Americans to do as we see fit. Another invasion by politicians of our rights.

Terry CzerwinskiI agree 100%. I believe that the American Legion & V.F.W. hall's should be allowed to run their POST'S as they feel fit
DonnaShame on the Government for letting this happen. Who are they to tell our Veterans what they can and cannot do! They are the ones who are fighting for our country. If they want to smoke let them
Steven Potoczny
Patrick DoyleI don't smoke and I think this is wrong to do to these people. We are losing a lot of business cause of this and we don't get much to start with!!!
Tara Bieniek
Arthur WielgaAlthough I don't personally consider myself a smoker...I respect the right of people to do so. I am opposed to this so-called "law" and consider it another step of government nosing it's way into people's personal lives...while people starve on our streets, children can't even find their own country on a map and young families are struggling to make ends meet even with BOTH parents working. FIX the REAL problems in society...and leave smoking alone!!!

Edna R MartinThis is an outrage!! What is happening to our Country? I have had ancestors and relatives who have served in every war fought by this country.. from the rev war thru serving in Iraq right now. I am from a large family. One brother served two terms in VietNam; another brother served in the Navy just before Viet nam; a brother in the Navy during the Mid East uprisings in the 1950's; a brother who was a paratrooper in the Korean Conflidt. His chute went down behind enemy lines, and he was captured and spent time as a POW; another brother served in WW2. he came home a hero, with several ribbons and medals and a purple heart; but left part of his ankle and foot there in Germany. Several Uncles in WW!, and so on back thru history, All of these veterans have now passed on except two. They are smokers!! The ones who have passed on were also smokers.

Paul PoshyvanykThis is an insult to the brave men and women of our armed forces.
Garnet Dawn ScheuerQuote: Governments that restrict people's rights "put themselves into a state of war with the people who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience" - English philosopher, John Locke Illinois Smokers Rights

JasonI believe if a former vet happens to be a smoker, and he fought for the US, he shouldn't be forced to smoke outside unless there's a shelter with heat and an AC. As a matter of fact, it's unconstitutional to force any senior smoker outside. That senior smoker earned his/her freedom as an American! Oh yeah, we Americans don't have freedoms anymore. Well, that needs to change. And it could start with giving vet smokers, senior smokers, and disabled smokers (like myself on being disabled) special needs when it comes to smoking outdoors. I thought I was born in the land of the FREE. Not the land of the NANNIES!
Lisa Hergesheimer LoperThey fought for our freedom, now give them the freedom to choose!
Jan HergesheimerI feel this way about any one who ones a building. Each building owner should have the right to decide if smoking is acceptable. Those who don't want to deal with the smoke have the right not to go there.
