The CWA and IBEW have ordered Verizon workers to return to work without a contract on Wednesday, June 1. We have no information about the "agreement in principle" and its impact on our health care and other terms we will have to work under for the next four years.
The circumstances of the return to work order are highly suspicious. We were informed of this agreement over the Memorial Day weekend when many workers were gone and when we had no opportunity to discuss it on the picket line. It also comes just as the strike would be strengthened by our eligibility to receive unemployment benefits, which will be cancelled if we return to work.
This is a complete violation of democratic procedures and due process. Workers require facts, not talking points. We have the right to make decisions on any end of the strike and any agreement with the company.
Therefore, the undersigned demand:
* The return to work order must be rescinded pending the holding of membership meetings where the full details of a contract are distributed and a democratic vote is taken.
This petition is for Verizon and other workers in the CWA and IBEW. We encourage workers to include their workplace location when signing.

The point of us strikeing was to get a fair contract! Not a TENTATIVE AGREEMENT! What if verizon renigs on somthing? Then what? We walk out and look crazy! We should not return to work until we have a fair CONTRACT!
I made the point earlier that the $1250 does not adequately compensate us for no contract 10mos and a lot of details regarding this contract are being left to good faith when this company has done absolutely nothing to garner such trust!
Stay strong! I agree, until the deal Is inked and signed it can change. And I agree, the timing seems suspicious with the ability to get unemployment insurance paid to you. We here in California are working without a contract currently and are watching your action while sitting in pins and needles.
This is basically going back to work without a contract so the company and government don't have 39000 people collecting unemployment insurance..... What's another week or two of unpaid bills versus knowing what we are singing into.
What sort of shady tactics are being used to make an agreement but not show YOUR MEMBERSHIP. I stand with my brothers and sisters. No information, no contract, NO WORK!

We have been fooled before. We need to see a contract, and ratify it prior to return to work. I also disagree with the removal of overtime caps. I thought Verizon had no trouble with the work load?
