Name: Anonymous on Jan 15, 2009Comments: We were lead to believe this was a great real estate investment and would receive dividends after 6 months which would pay for the investment. It has been 8 months and we have not seen a dime. Also with our deal with Velas Vallarta, Holiday Transfer agreed to buy our old timeshare and it has been a nightmare trying to get them to even pay the maintenance fee. After many many phone calls and many many emails they finally paid the maintenance fee past the due date. Also the property deed for my old timeshare still has not been transferd out of my name. We were also told the maintenance fee for Velas was $680 US and then we received a bill for $852.93. They said it was due to taxes and an increase due to their costs. But we were never told this when we signed the papers and agreed to purchase with Velas Vallarta, and I am sure they knew exactly what the real price would be.Flag

Here it is 9 months later and nothing but Bull from everyone you talk to at Velas Vallarta. Nothing but very good snakes in the grass.Flag

Name: Yadira Bowen on Sep 30, 2009Comments: My dad and myself we scamed into buying a 1 bedroom Timeshare at Velas Vallarta the summer of 2003. This was the worst investment we have made in our life. They lured us into thinkig that we would be able to list it for rent with Global Resorts Services and would make a profit from it. It has been over 9 years and we have yet to receive a single payment. We have paid numerous out of pocket expenses for maintence fees that we have never used. Finally in 2008 my mother called Velas to inform them that we would not be advancing any more money to cover any maintenence. The representative assured her that a $50 surrender fee could be charge instead of the regular maintenence fee that continues to increase every year. We paid the $50 surrender fee in 2008 and know in 2010 they are asking for another maintence fee, I called and informed them that we have never used the Timeshare and will never use it. The first representitive I spoke with informed me that the optionof $50 surrender fee they had given my mother in 2008 was an exceptionI. I asked to apeak with a manager and was transfered to "Lupita" who then transfered me to "Juby", I informed her that I wanted to surrender the 2010 week and she informed me that it was not possible and it did not reflect on my contract. I informed her of what they had informed my mother in 2008 about the $50 Surrender Fee and also informed her that I had also called in on May 5, 2009 to inform them that we would be surrendering the week. She informed me that it was only a promotion at the time in 2008 and was no longer offered. This is all a scam they extract money from clients like crazy and you get different answers from each representative. I have had enough of this company and have been stressed over this matter. My father and I are declining to send them any more money than what they have already received from us. This was the worst vacation ever and are terrified when encountered by sales individuals at the different resorts I have visited ever since.Flag

Name: Markus Plewa on Dec 16, 2009Comments: We experienced the same fraud in 2007. The only difference is we wrote a check for our timeshare so we i think itwill be almost imposible to get our money back from them. They promised that the rental company would easily rent 1 week a year and that they could rent as many as 5 weeks a year. These people should be put in prison for stealing peoples money!Flag

Name: George Sukhu on Jan 31, 2010Comments: I too have been scammed Mar 28/29, 2009. Just like all the others, I was ambused upon arrival at PVR looking for a taxi and paying $20 which will be returned to me the next day for attending VV early the next day, which I did. That was a huge mistake. Very agressive sales tactics refusing me at first and refusing the free Tequila etc and the acting from the agents was Oscar winning. But the main man came to the rescue. He got me into studion at first and then took me from the hotel I booked at and gave one at VV. The next day he met me for free breakfast and upsold me a villa . I should have used the 5 day cancellation I had but he told me I waived that already. He said I would be making $7500 every six months. Nothing to date. I know I have been scammed. What can I do? I need your advice or a class action against VV.Flag

Name: Roger And Ursula Palmer on Mar 23, 2010Comments: Yes, the sales rep. Jerry Eye made all kinds of promisses inc.l signing us up with Sierra( we paid $688.85for membership)and depositing the "bonus" weeks for rent, but so far nothing happend. Wenn we returned last year to question all the promisses made, Mr Roberto Garcia( Contracts Manager) took us to the back room and said he knew nothing about all of this. Even ask to send a copy of the credit card to show when the charges were made. Never heard back.Flag
