Since its inception on 26th June 1857 the Victoria Cross has been awarded on 1358 occassions. This is the highest award issued "To those officers or men who have served Us in the presence of the Enemy and shall then have performed some signal act of valour or devotion to their country" We should as a nation honour and remember them and what better way than with a Bank Holiday "VC Day". The date should be 26th June each year.

Brian Carson, United Kingdom3 years ago Comments: Our brothers who have given an inspirational example to us all and more often than not in doing so have paid the highest price. Their love, bravery, britishness and often sacrifice must never be forgotten. What better way to remember them and to teach our young the highest of values than to inform them of our heroes.
