My name is John Rutledge Jr. I worked in law Enforcement for 13 years. In June 2008 a "drive by shooting" was at my house while I was at work. The only window shot at was where my 12 week pregnant wife and 6 year old daughter were sleeping. Than got nobody was hurt. I was diagonosed with severe Post Traumatic Disorder as a result and had to retire. What suprised me is I look at our SC Code of Laws 16-1-70 there is a list of violent crimes. I am not sure how this slipped through but it is time to fix it. Nowhere under violent crimes is shooting into an occupied dwelling. All we simply ask is that those that were voted in to serve us do so. Rep. Jimmy Neal in my district had no interest in helping with the simple yet important topic. Rep. Deborah Long state she would take care of it but thats as fare as it got. If you feel this should be changed especially with the rising of our gangs please sign.
