Good luck to you guys, I hope democracy wins, both in Vancouver and London. I live in Athens, Greece, where motorcycles are encouraged and park almost anywhere for free without hindrance (even on the pavement, without causing an obstruction) GOOD LUCK, FIGHT THEM ALL THE WAY!Flag

Name: Adam Soltys on Apr 12, 2010Country: CanadaComments: There is a definite need for increased motorcycle parking in the downtown core. Motorcycle and scooter usage should be encouraged as an alternative to less environmental forms of transportation. I'd like to see free parking at all meters, allowing multiple bikes/scooters per meter, legal sidewalk and alley parking, and generally more designated and discounted motorcycle parking spots on the streets and in lots and garages.Flag

Name: Mike Williams on Apr 15, 2010Country: CanadaComments: Mayor and Council, I live in Kamloops but am often in Vancouver on my motorcycle. There are so many spots where motorcycles could park free. I was also born and raised in Vancouver. I have many friends and family there and they ALL support this. I support free motorcycle parking in Vancouver. Kamloops has had free motorcycle parking spots downtown since about 2005. - many forward thinking cities across the world recognize motorcycles as a viable alternative and encourage their use by allowing motorcycles to park for free - motorcycles take up less space and help reduce congestion/gridlock - motorcycles use less fuel (motorcycles, as defined in the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, use up to 90 percent less gasoline than a regular car or truck) - motorcycle operators currently experience significant parking problems because other motorists often steal their "pay and display" parking receipts and the theft of their receipt often results in the rider receiving a parking ticket - motorcycles have lower greenhouse gas emissions than cars, making them more environmentally friendly - motorcycles create less wear and tear on our roadsFlag
