Name: Chris Auld on Feb 13, 2003State:Country: CAComments: The pros of hosting these games so outweigh the cons it isn't even an issue. Besides, it is better to regret something you have done rather than something you haven't done. BC is a great place to live filled with tallented and skilled people, if we put our mind to it we can do anything, so let's stop whining and get on with rebuilding this province!Flag

Name: Gary Crosby on Feb 14, 2003State:Country: CAComments: After witnessing a 3 yr old girl die in Terrace BC because of cut backs to their regional hospital I cannot on moral grounds find it in my heart to support the Olympic bid. Considering that more than 20 times the money has gone for bid process than what was needed to keep the emergency room open that may have saved that childs life. I love athletics and have been a volunteer in my community for many years but no amount of fame is worth the life any child.Flag

Name: Arianna Andrews on Feb 16, 2003State:Country: CAComments: We need to look at the logistics of housing the 2010 Olympics here, in British Columbia. Pro arguments are based mainly on profitable economic spin-offs during and after the games. Every argument, however, can be rebutted with a reason that the money spent is and will be a gross misallocation of funds. Sorry yes-voters, even economic "benifits" can't win this one.Flag

Until the government can show me why it is cutting my wifes and my job out of health care but ask me for money for the coast to prosper, and convince me it is in my (and the rest of B.C.)best interest, they can take the olympics and shove em.Flag
