Tommy WoodI love mixed martial arts and train some at Revolution in Port kells. MMA has become increasingly popular amongst not only Canadians but the rest of the world. Why not give it a chance? It is stupid to ignore it, its easily the fastest growing sport in North America for the last 2 or 3 years. I would love to go see alive event at GM place or Bc place, but with our lame government it doesnt look likely
Danny Smithwhy not bring it? ... why does this need to be done in order to have entertainment we all enjoy brought to Vancouver....?

Brodie ParkinsonI don't have very much to say here. Bringing the UFC to B.C. would gain a lot of respect, and every seat in the joint would be sold out guarenteed. I'd definatley be in one of them.
Momo Y.I know my boyfriend is a HUGE fan of UFC and one of my wishes is to take him to a fight if UFC makes it to vancouver.
TheoDO IT!! Bring the UFC to VANCOUVER

TrevUnfortunately the city of Vancouver feels that having the UFC in Vancouver would taint the city's reputation in lieu of the Olympics. I'd rather go see UFC (at least I'll be able to AFFORD it). And I'm sure its possible that a near majority of others feel the same! Let's get it on!

AnonymousUFC and MMA alike, has evolved so much since it first materialized decades ago. Along with the evolution came many rules that ensure a greater amount of safety for each fighter. I believe it's a controlled sport, much more than flying sticks and the violence that is accepted on the ice during hockey fights. I dont believe that mma portrays a bad message. I believe it's healthy in terms of allo fthe hard work that a fighter goes through in preparing for fights. That's something people can admire and it's a healthy thing for younger people to follow, hard work and pushing yourself every day. Also, all of the support that comes from friends, family and the team/gym you are training out of creates a good environment for everyone. It's a sport that i believe is going to continue to grow regardless of any bann's in BC. One that i think everyone should support.

Anonymousbring it to vancouver so i can fight in it
David Balzeras a MMA fighter i can speak for myself in saying that MMA is not as dangerous as people presume it to be. the reason i train in MMA is because motocross, and snowboarding have always plauged me with injuries. since training and fighting in MMA i am in the best shape i have been in my life. if the UFC comes to BC great... but more importantly allow MMA events in vancouver
kenbring the ufc to vancouver vsit the ufc in vancouver group
Matthew Harasymchuk

Adam Reddymma should be allowed in all provinces. These fighters are just as much athletes as hockey, basketball, football players and so on.
Blake ChalonerI grew up in Prince George B.C. which has had MMA events that were shown on TSN not to mention the stupid fights on ice. I think it is straight up bullshit to deny the fans the ability to watch something they want to see.
KEITH FORCEWE WANT THE UFC
Rob DaniBring the UFC to Vancouver. This sport has grown so much since the old UFC. The rules have changed a lot. Stop stereotyping this sport, and allow the greatest fighters in the world to compete in a safe enviroment.

ArifSanction Mixed Martial Arts in British Columbia . We have already missed out on some major promotions. IF YOU ALLOW BOXING TO BE PUT ON AND NOT MMA YOU ARE DISCRIMINATING!

Justin BruceYES! Bring it !!
Aaron JarmanVancouver is a world class city in many area's, yet Vancouver City Council's decision to not allow competition in their jurisdiction is a foolish decision. If the goal is to drive it away, you'll only be driving vancouverite talent elsewhere to train, and make vancouver definitely not world class with respect to MMA. By refusing to sanction these events, you drive them underground, where there are less safety precautions, for fighters and fans alike. Less medical attention, less regulation on figher's health prior to a fight, and as we saw in North Vancouver with Tim Thurston, less security checks to prevent Vancouver's prevalent gun violence from making an impact on the sport. Please, allow this sport in legitimate arenas, with proper safety checks and balances to guarantee the saftey of everyone involved. Don't give Vancouver this black eye when this sport is just coming into focus. International Stars hailing from Vancouver are virtual unknowns here, greats like Dennis Kang and Michael Mcdonald, up and comers like Kalib Starnes. Vancouver is a great city, and could (should) be viewed as a hotspot for mma befitting it's rank as one of the great multicultural cities on the planet.
Ajay BHAGRIAI think the MMA is a sport and we should be open minded and welcome the sport. This is not a violent act actually any place you go to get trained in MMA tell you its all about discipline, self control, self defense. I get write a lot but I think the main message is there to be open minded and try the event out

Brent McIsaacTime to move out of the stone age Vancouver! Montreal has opened the door for major MMA events in Canada and with MMA's popularity in B.C. Vancouver would be next on the map for the UFC if you would open your eyes and see it for what it is.

Aftab SandhuThe UFC is a great organization that is working to better the sport of MMA. It has recieved an unfair reputation as a league of Bloodsport, when in fact it is safer then most boxing association. I look forward to frequenting many UFC events in the city of Vancouver in the future.
