Uverse recently released a new updated version of their VOD (video-on-demand) screens. The previous system loaded nearly immediately, because it was mostly text based. The new system is all image based, and takes many MANY more seconds to load, it's SO painful.

Here's a list of things that are demonstrably worse with the new system:

1. The load time is now 10+ seconds *for each screen*. Previously it was under 2 seconds.

2. The new screens are not designed to account for TV "overscan", so on my old standard 4:3 CRT TV in my bedroom, I cannot read the left-half of all of the menu items. Instead of "Free Shows", I see "e Shows". How many years have we been knowing about TV overscan and yet you fail to account for it?

3. The VOD screens list a grid/table layout of images for each show, but show no text with each item, so you can't glance at the grid and find what you're looking for by name. You literally have to scroll the cursor to each item to read the text to know the show/movie name to see if it's what you're looking for. The images are terribly inept at helping, and (on my standard 4:3 32" TV) are too tiny to even recognize what they're showing. Whereas on the previous system, I could see 10 shows in a vertical text list, and at a glance decide if I needed to do a page-down to go to the next 10 results, now I have to go through each one, 1 at a time, to check. Literally 10x the time to use this new system. Painful puts it mildly.

4. There's a "my queue" system that seems basically broken, or at best, completely unintuitive. No idea what this crap is.

-------

Uverse PLEASE go back to the old (bad, but not THIS terrible) VOD system. Fire the people who designed and built that new piece of junk for you.
