Name: Anonymous on Sep 26, 2007Comments: This is the best way I've found to get information about events in the University community, and to buy and sell goods with the confidence that you "know" who you're dealing with. I will never use Craigslist. Please reconsider this decision.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Sep 26, 2007Comments: The UVA class ads provide more than just a benefit to the seller. I've seen recommendations posted on request for virtually every kind of labor service, and it's otherwise difficult to find this. I've also seen (and posted myself) things given away for free to ultimately very grateful people. Please keep the class ads!Flag

Name: Nick Guagliardo on Sep 26, 2007Comments: The UVA.want-ads is a powerful tool for students, faculty, and staff of the University. Not only a forum for selling and buying, the UVA.want-ads has evolved into a non-invasive means of giving and receiving information from the UVA community. Posts include items for sale, product advice, service recommendations, and community events. The want-ads is a truly useful UVA community service; retiring this service will negatively impact many, many people at the University. A forum such as this could not be replicated by a Craigslist, or any other site with national (and worldwide) access and influence.Flag

Without them students wanting to sell refrigerators, air conditioners and the like will be inviting more outsiders into the dorms to view the merchandise.Flag

Name: Mike Williams on Sep 26, 2007Comments: Please keep the UVA want-ads. It is very valuable to UVA employees and students. It is one of the few safe places to do business with on the internet. Most of the things listed on the UVA want-ads would be lost anywhere else. I feel and believe this has a great value for and to the University as a whole. Please reconsider your plans to eleminate and support the employees and students. Thank youFlag
