Many housestaff have faced difficulty with scheduling interviews. When attempting to schedule the interviews, housestaff have faced issues such as being forced to find coverage for services on which there are both fellows and attendings, covering patients in clinics that are not their continuity clinics, etc. Some residents have had to cancel interviews to cover patients in a subspecialty clinic. While this is largely due to a new system, we feel that waiting 12 months to rectify the problem in finality compromises our academic careers.  We feel that this is a serious issue that is affecting career aspirations, and that the gravity of these situations are not apparent to senior administration. 

This letter, thus, serves to demonstrate how widespread the issues are that are being faced by senior housestaff, and we hope some immediate action can take place in order to rectify the situation, if even for the near future.
