In the 1980's a rebel league offered quality professional football during the spring. The league featured many future NFL stars like Jim Kelly, Reggie White, Sam Mills, Hershel Walker, Doug Flutie, Steve Young, and many more. Arena Football coaching Icon Mike Hornesee got his start in the USFL as well. The goal is to persaude Topps to issue a brand new football set honoring the league by 2011, the 25th anniversary of the last season of the USFL. The goal is to feature all new cards of legends like White, Young and Kelly, along with dream cards, players like Kent Hull, John Fourcade, and many more USFL players who went on to careers in the NFL, but never had their own USFL cards. The goal is also to have cards honoring all the USFL champions, as well as league founder, the late Chet Simmons.
