| 151 | Khadyja | I have been looking for interest in and support for this kind of idea for so long.. So many people is so wrapped up in technology, "progress", and getting more, more, more, BIGGER, things, consuming more, buying more, making more money, that they dont have the time to stop and see what they are doing to our earth, to ourselves. I think it is so important to have a day to remind folks of the serenity, peace, and justice that comes from putting down our cell phones, going for a walk, and saying a prayer for mother earth. It can be as simple as that, but if the whole world did it, we would be transformed. Thank you for advocating Unplug America on 13 Oct, I wish we could practice it daily. |

| 161 | Charamaine Whitman | Living in harmony with all that is encompassed by mother earth should be in the hearts and minds of all, for we are all interconnected. Peace, love, & joy should not just be ideas but actions that are carried out by a larger majority of the population everyday. |

| 180 | Gayla Smith | In the Jewish community Friday sundown to Saturday sundown is Shabbos. During which time Orthodox Jews study the Torah and pray together and will not do any type of business on Shabbos. To get to the Synagogue, they follow certain paths that enable them to walk to Synagogue. I am sure that there are other faiths that practice some form of this and perhaps we all should take it one more notch up. |

| 193 | Erin | I'll be at work, so I'll have to take transit (no way over the bridge on a bike or on foot), but I won't be turning the computer on when I get home, and I'll be seeing how many things (like laundry, showers, cooking) can be shifted over a day either way.
Seems to me that conservation is a daily task, much like cooking and washing. And like those activities, it can be fun, and should be. Here's hoping that this day generates a lot of happy surprises for people as they try it out. |
