For the last 20 years, Grover
Norquist has held our lawmakers to a pledge that has helped coarsen the debate
on Capital Hill. More importantly, as we stare down the Fiscal Cliff, our lawmakers
are unable to make the necessary concessions to avoid another economic spiral
and slowdown, which would eventually lead to higher unemployment.
If the Groverists succeed,
it would slow down the momentum of recovery and put a strain only the economy
of the United States, but also affect the economies of Europe. Our law makers
must be able to negotiate in earnest and to do so, they must UnPledge.
This petition seeks 1
million signatures from each of the 50 states to send to their lawmakers in the
Senate and House to UnPledge and thereby be able to negotiate in earnest.
