Name: C Franklin on Jun 1, 2003State: MOCountry: USComments: IF Scot did it I hope he pays the price. But his guilt or innocene should have nothing to do with your allowing the Rocha family to break into his home and STEAL whatever they wanted. This makes you look bad. Really bad. And it makes a lot of us wonder; did you use this same WARPED sense of justice while investigating the caseFlag

Name: Jean Santana on Jun 1, 2003State: MICountry: USComments: The only crime committed here was that the Peterson's were allowed to withhold the property from the Rochas for as long as they did. This is certainly a case study for victims rights and proves that the victims should have some instead of the accuser having them all.Flag

Name: Dan Mathewson on Jun 1, 2003State: WACountry: USComments: Allowing an unlawful entry (ie burglary) to occur in that manner, while police stood by and watched is ridiculous. Charges must be filed in this case. That was unbeleivable.Flag

Name: Gary Houston on Jun 1, 2003State: TXCountry: USComments: Breaking and entering! They should be charged with this crime. The MPD and DA showed EXACTLY how biased you are against Scott Peterson and the Peterson Family by allowing them to leave with the things from SCOTTS house.Flag

Name: RoseMarie Hughes on Jun 1, 2003State: MOCountry: USComments: I believe the police should not have allowed the Rocha family and friends to remove Scott Petersons things from his home. They should have stopped it and should hold them accountable for breaking and entering, and destruction of property and trespassing. Grief is no excuse for committing an unlawful act. They were being allowed legal entry on the 3rd, and they should have waited and complied with the law. Anyone else would be held accountable for this and I believe they should also. Now they are whining about jewelry, they should go to probate court and see what they are legally entitled to at this point. I feel they are taking advantage of public sympathy and that is just not right. There actions are disgusting. Scott Peterson is not convicted of anything yet, and I believe he is innocent.. Name: Les Perkins on Jun 1, 2003State: VACountry: USComments: If this is the best that the MPD can do they better go get a job at McDonalds. You people have "no balls" or you would be doing the right thing no matter what people think. It goes without saying that you are indeed getting a name for your department & I can assure you that it is not a good one either. I, as a law abiding American citizen am totally ashamed that you call yourself a police department.Flag

Name: Christina Badgero on Jun 6, 2003State: MICountry: USComments: What the Rocha family and friends did was criminal. What your department did was a complete travesty to our judicial system. You stood and watched as someone robbed a home. In my state this would never be tolerated and the our State Attorney General would have your office investigated. Everyone of you who stood there and let it happen should turn in your badge as you are not worthy of what it stands for.Flag

Name: Sharron Misner on Jun 6, 2003State: MOCountry: USComments: I was amazed that the Modesto Police Department said breaking into someones home and stealing four pickup loads of others belongings is considered a civil matter. In Missouri it is called breaking and entering and grand theft. What is wrong with the MPD Do you just let some people get away with stealing or everyoneFlag

Name: Don Calianno on Jun 6, 2003State: CACountry: USComments: If my father was to be charged with killing my mother, what legal right would I have to go into his house and take things that belonged to my mother. Would I not be arrested For I would have broke into a house that was not mine. If infact I did break into my fathers house and take things from this house I would be just like the Rochas. And if he was aquited of charges then he could in fact sue the city for allowing me to break into his house and take what was not mine.Flag

Name: Tom Stevens on Jun 6, 2003State: CACountry: USComments: The Rocha family should be charged. The value of the items taken makes this a felony. You're sending the wrong message to any kid watching the police standing on the side of the road next to their patrol car watching the Rocha family driving off after breaking into Scott's house. And you wonder why kids today think that if they can justify breaking the law in their mind, it's okay!!!!Flag
