How can this possibly be justified Everyone complains about "career criminals", apparently that's the only kind of "career" they will be able to get if HB 705 is passed. Profiling, discrimination...are there any more rights the government would like to infringe uponFlag

Name: James Read on Apr 24, 2007State: INCountry: USComments: Makes no sense. If you can't get a job that WILL ATLEAST PAY the bills, then you'd be forced to do other things to make it. A trade can earn someone (ANYONE WIILING TO WORK) a fair living. I'm not an ex-con but the Trades (HVAC) saved me from probably going to prison. It's hell just for most of us to pay our bills. These people are doomed down there. Texans aren't to smart--sorry. You have all that crime down there and pass a bill to promote even MORE CRIME! GREAT THINKING!!!!!Flag

Name: Betty Read on Apr 24, 2007State: TXCountry: USComments: I know people make mistakes but I have also see people turn things around and learn from past mistakes as my son has done. i'm very proud of him and want him to continue being a responsible person and let everyone know with loving family and proper support structure my son has turned his life totally around and we are very proud of him. He did his time and is now a very productive individual and hopefully others can learn from him.Flag

I sincerely feel that a second chance should be given to those who are really trying to change their lives.Flag

Name: Dena Keech on Oct 20, 2008State: TXCountry: USComments: This is not going to help with avoiding recidivism. We need to help them get employment not take it away for 20 years. I worked with the RIO Program and it is very hard for them to find employment and now you want to take it away for 20 years. What are you thinking. We need them to come out of prison and start working again like the rest of us. Stop this bill. It is not the right thing to do.Flag

How can we ever hope for inmates to get an honest job if the idiotic House precluded needed blue collar jobs these men will need. Shall we expect them to be filled with illegal aliensFlag

Name: James Lopez on Mar 21, 2011State: North CarolinaCountry: United StatesComments: This is a stupid law being passed , I've been working for the same company for 10 years, and never had a problem with a home owner, in fact they often request me to do the jobs. Now because of this law, I'm no longer able to do service call at home owners house. I live in North Carolina but my company is based in Texas. I 'm a convicted felon but have no violent crimes.Flag

I was convicted in 2001, its 2013 im still getting shut down for service jobs, so now im on unemployment. To be honest, when this bill was inacted, WE didnt vote, nor did WE have representatives to reject it.Flag
