Name: Abraham Jatto on Oct 6, 2012Comments: It will amount to a great deservice and porputrousity for the Ban Ki Moon led United Nations just now in 2012 not to unequivocally apologise to the igbo people of Nigeria and call the larger Nigeria state and government to acknowledge that the policies and laws of the Gowon/Awolowo led Federal executive council betwen 1967-1970 were grossly skewed and clearly inhuman. They should further mandate the serving Nigerian government to immediately apologise set up generally acceptable mechanism to correct this vehement modern day evil. Otherwise, the core purpose and fundamental aims and spirit of the United Nations Charter will be seen to have been defeated. A case in point, even the injustice that the British did against the Mau-Mau group in kenya was only yesterday 05/10/12 alllowed to proceed for trail by a setting copetent British court. Therefore, the UN/Nigeria should immediately take a queue from this. Father Abraham writes from Leicester, UKFlag

Name: Damian Njoku on Oct 6, 2012Comments: The above petition is nothing but the very truth of 1967 - 1970, as perpetuated by the Nigerian authorities against the Igbo tribe. The same genocide is currently being committed again by Nigeria and their terrorist Islamic group called Boko Haram against the same Igbo ethnic group of Nigeria - the very Christians of Nigeria. I hope the UN and the rest of the world is watching again. Every man has the right to freedom. Thank You, Damian.Flag

Name: Chief H.U. Nwachukwu on Oct 6, 2012Comments: "People who do not remember the past are doomed to extinction." "Be the change you want to see in the world" (Mahatma Gandhi, 1869-1948). On july 29, 1967, General Yakubu Gowon declared a war of genocide against the Igbo of Biafra and this war raged for 3 years and engulfed, circa, 3 million innocent lives, including women and children. The UN watched this happen with little or no intervention. It is true that the war is over, physically but mentally it is not. It has truely left an indelible scar which cannot be afaced. Therefore, the UN must live up to its expectations and obligations.Flag

Name: Iwuamanam Eugene on Oct 7, 2012Comments: The above is a fact and the UN must agree with the petitioner that the body is guilty as stated, therefore should consider the demand meritorious. Unless some people are considered by this body as more important than others. I lived through the genocidal war against humanity, hence my appending my signature on this instrument demanding for fairness. Eugene IwuamanamFlag

Name: Maazi Nnaemeka Mene Onumonu on Oct 7, 2012Comments: Nyamiri (Igbo/Ibo) We opened our arms in friendship we lived amongst you as one We shared with you our wealth and know-how We forgot our homes and your home we made ours We gave up our language that we may learn yours We preached love, brotherhood and unity. But in return what do we get? NYAMIRI – You cried! NYAMIRI – Must die! NYAMIRI – Kill! Kill! Kill! NYAMIRI - Open the stomachs of the pregnant, and the unborn kill! NYAMIRI – Cut their limbs and heads off! NYAMIRI – Make their children parentless! NYAMIRI – Confiscate their properties! NYAMIRI – Wipe them off the face of the earth. For now on the sidelines we stand For our feet we have wiped and our steps retraced For whom the world has rejected themselves cannot reject From the cry of the fatherless, deaf our ears are! From the blood of the innocent, blindfolded our eyes are! For the bones of our dead, picked clean by the vultures, yet unburied, in knots tied we are. For as long as your crimes you acknowledge not For as long as our forefathers unappeased remain On the sidelines, we must, we will, we always must remain. ÓMaazi Onumonu-UzoaruFlag
