Comments: As I read some of the comments about child support fathers I knew we were fighting a losing battle, at least here in ohio. The child support laws are not to promote family consolidation and unity. It's designed for the woman to use as a tool to degrade and lower the self esteem of very responsible and loving fathers such as myself and other caring fathers alike. I provided for my son from birth while being unemployed. yes I said while being unemployed. and my son never went without whatever it was he needed. everything was fine until the mother decided that she wanted some more money, mind you she still has a full time job. and I have little or no income. do you think she cared. hell know! now why would I want to be with a woman who would prevent me from taking care of our son by having someone who don't have a clue about our situation now not only am I losing my place of stay because we don't live together I'm also going to lose my car so even if I found employment I probably couldn't get there. I'm also disabled but I work and they've already let me know whatever I make their going to take. the hurting thing about it is that she had to lie and I was told that all the time that I was taking care of my son didn't mean a thing. all the clothes, stride-rite shoes, learning toys, car seats, milk, diapers, I even convert a room into an undersea adventure nursery for my little man and she didnt even help with the materials. I have know problem with paying child support but don't order me to pay and put me in an impossible situation that won't allow me to pay based on her lies. If you take the basic tools needed to do a job then how can you expect me to do that job. oh I forgot child support is designed to keep me down. and my ex is too stupid to realize it. all she know is what she wants and how she can get it. Fella's pray on it. it's no wonder that the black family unit is virtually non existent because the black women just don't get it. they'll do this to us but expect us to call them queen. how can u respect someone who won't even respect you.

Comments: Follow the money in the court system. For every dollar collected by the state a dollar for Child Support a dollar is colected from the Federal Goverments. This is why child support is high and the courts restrict parenting time to the non-custodial parent.

Comments: I have experienced all of the negative aspects of child support; I have spent 6 months in jail because the courts did not recognize and acknowledge 23, 000 dollars I gave to my ex in a lump sum....THEY SAID IT WAS A GIFT! This is almost barbaric. What do you need me to do...I am in.

Comments: This is one area the courts get away with being sexist against males. Times have changed. Things aren't the way they were 40 years ago. The courts need to keep up with the times.

Comments: My step daughter lives with us 100% of the time. Her mother lives out of the country with her two other children. We pay 100% of all medical expenses, school tuition, school lunches, extracurricular activites and everything else. In addition, we have to pay $300 a month to our state because my step daughter's mom is claiming partial custody and getting welfare. When we tried to dispute this, we were told that the mom was allowed to travel. So each month we take $300 away from money that could be spent on my step daughter and give it to our state so they can send her mom a monthly check.

Comments: I agree with you. I may be a female but women get way too much money for children. Seems that the father is supporting the mother and child which is not right. I agree that the father should get statments and what ever is left should go back to the father. Its only right

Comments: CS laws have ruined me, I lost my job, still have to pay 1000 a month. been 5 months since I could pay. Now they have taken my drivers license and Passport away. This has made it impossable for me to work in my industry again, puting me at the counter at Mcdonalds. They have also reported that debt to my credit report ruining my credit. I now look like a dead beat dad to my children. This is unfair and unjust.

Comments: I never would have believed the horrors of how biased the court system is against men until I experienced it for myself. Having never failed to pay child support though I have been through bankruptcy, had to move to keep my job, had to move to obtain a new job; AND, having voluntarily paid an exhorbitant amount out of care for my children during the divorce and immediately following when I had a high-paying job; I have now personally experienced the mockery of justice known as support court in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. I was blatantly denied custody by my x-wife, post-announcement to my children that my August 2011 wife and I were going to have a baby in June 2012. My x-wife claims that "not seeing me" and not even talking to me on the phone were my children's decisions (Daughter was 13 at the time, Son was 8 at the time). I sought a change in custody due to the serious nature of what my x-wife had done over a period of 6 months--once I was able to find out what to do. What is amazing is that there is this incredible network of "child support enforcement," but (except for the wealthy who have lawyers on payroll as regular practice) someone who wants to enforce a custody agreement can't find much help on how to do so on the web--without prior existing knowledge on how to do it. In fact, I only found out by complaining to the support people!!! When I did figure it out and go to what was called mediation, not only did the supposed mediator not look at any of the vast hard-evidence and belittle my complaint about the x-wife's actions to be "a verbal slight," she didn't even reprimand my x-wife for blocking my visitation. Instead, she chastised me for being in Virginia and not seeing my children on Wednesday nights--as the never-modified custody agreement originally said. She claimed I broke the custody agreement first and therefore Kristen Andrews could do whatever she wanted. I was and am appalled. Since I no longer have any contact with either of my children, I am going to the State of Virigina to see if I can obtain some injunctive relief against the State of Pennsylvania. If I am not allowed to execute any other responsibilities of being a father, I should not simply be reduced to a paycheck for Kristen--who is remarried to a banker who has a lot of friends in the court system. If anyone has any suggestions on how to fight this interstate battle more effectively (while still keeping my legal obligations to the best of my ability as I have always done), I welcome your response to johnny.andrews333@gmail.com

Comments: The laws are totally designed to protect the interests of the mother. I have been paying child support for one child for 15 years. Due to an early divorce settlement, my ex also gets to claim our child on income tax every year. She purposely refuses to work, always complains that she wasn't getting enough child support and now expects that I pay for our daughter's college. I have paid well over $200,000 in child support and she could not even put even the tax money away for our daughter, who will graduate high school next year. Ex even receives disability for herself and daughter. My recent divorce is now costing me alimony and additional child support on top of the current. The calculations are based on income and yet EXPENSES are not even factored in. How do they expect fathers to survive? Also, wife should not get half of 401k when she did not work in my shoes doing MY job. And there should always be exceptions to the rule. The mother is considered unfit if she is a drug user or prostitute. Yet, what if she is a drug enabler to a drug addicted child and is financially unstable to provide for the kid? This system is beyond jacked and affecting millions of hard-working fathers. Thank you to whomever started this position! It deserves attention at the Supreme Court and should belong on Obama's agenda. It's a horrible epidemic and good fathers are totally getting shafted!

Comments: OUR LEGAL SYSTEM SUCKS THERE IS NO JUSTICE!!! THE CHILD SUPPORT SYSTEM IS PROOF THAT FATHERS ARE NOT TREATED EQUAL IN THE LEGAL SYSTEM. WHY ARE MEN EXPECTED TO PAY FOR THEIR EX WIFE TO LIVE HIGH ON THE HOG WHILE THE MAN IS FORCED TO STRUGGLE?THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PETITION THAT IS COMMON SENSE BUT SHOWS HOW THE LEGAL SYSTEM IS FUCKED UP.
