Give Dr. Robinson and Other Contract Instructors Permanent Jobs!
Dr. Andrew Robinson is one out of many
adjunct professors working at Carleton University and he faces the
same struggles as the rest of the contingency faculty across North
America. Carleton University refuses to give Dr. Robinson a permanent
full-time job, even though he has won two teaching awards in three years.
It is estimated that 50% of all first
year students at Carleton University are taught by contingency
professors. Dr. Robinson teaches physics to 30% of engineering
students, and 50% of science students. At present he is paid $34000
per year to teach you.
In essence, Carleton University is
depriving students of a great lecturer. But it all comes down to you.
It is your education, it is your money, and it is your future. If you
enjoyed having Dr. Robinson as you lecturer and thought he made a
positive impact on your education, please speak out and sign the
petition. Thank you very much.
