This petition has been organized to combat the unethically towing business that has infiltrated our neighborhoods. These communities belong to us, the people who live, work, and rear children in these areas. We are being harassed daily by the fear that our friends, families, and even our own vehicles will be towed by the companies and property managers that are trying to make profits off residents. This towing practice does not help security or prevent any crimes from happening. It is legal larceny of an individual’s private property that allows them to first steal and then charge the individual to get his/her vehicle back. The areas are a series of apartments in a low income neighborhoods of individuals in socially and economically isolated from different stratagems of life. The towing takes place in early am hours. The victims vehicles don not block or obstruct traffic and the residents do not have any (besides handicap) reserved parking. There are usually no security guards, no locked gates, and the property manager has posted signs that are not legal in the state of Texas. We have become as Americans victims of white collar crime. This is not the American way. We organize our government, companies, and families for the benefits of us the citizens not a few individuals in the system. With this petition we want to take a stand against this practice to take our neighborhoods back and our rights backs as citizens. Thank You in advance to all who sign.
