The petition

This petition is dedicated to increase the number of eligible blood donors. We create support, raise awareness and initiate action to the present discriminatory policies issued by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) toward homosexual and bisexual males. Our mission is to bring awareness and advocate against the present outdated policy affecting millions of lives.

Statistics

- Regardless of donor, all blood is tested for HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis by Nucleic Acid Amplification Technology (NAT) to prevent a transfer of infection.

- There are approximately 3.5 million gay and/or bisexual males in the United States who are eligible to give blood but are deferred due to sexual orientation.

- If 3.5 million gay males could give blood, it would benefit over 10 million individuals.

By signing this petition, I support the change in Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Blood Donor Policy to allow eligible gay and bisexual men to donate blood and save millions of lives.
