Comments: The two gentlemen who typify the late Victorian/Edwardian period have to be Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Sir Edward Elgar. How can the authorities be so short-sighted as to destroy the house where ACD wrote just about the most famous crime novel, "Hound of the Baskervilles" Please, please, just for once, can aesthetics take precedence over money You can build new houses somewhere else. Why destroy one of the last links to such a giant of crime literature

Comments: This unique building must be saved from property developers and restored for an appropriate purpose which reflects its historic links with the man who designed and built it over 100 years ago, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the creator of probably the most famous character of English fiction. Undershaw must celebrate his memory!
